
Traveland RV Rentals Ltd. is a division of Traveland Leisure Vehicles Ltd., one of British Columbia’s largest recreational vehicles centers, and is located on seven acres, just outside Vancouver. The company has been in operation for over 25 years providing sales, parts and service for recreational vehicles of all types.
In 1996 Traveland Leisure Vehicles Ltd. introduced the Motorhome Rental Division and has enjoyed tremendous response and customer satisfaction and is continuing the quality of service and excellence that has made Traveland Leisure Vehicles one of the most reputable and successful recreational vehicle centers in North America.
Traveland RV Rentals Ltd has unique qualities that include:
• The PREMIUM FLEET consists of the Deluxe Class A and C Motorhomes, Class B VANS, Truck/5th wheels and Truck/Camper; MODEL YEARS 2008 and 2009. Customers are guaranteed a new, high quality rental vehicle which has been used for no more than two seasons
• The COACH FLEET offering Motorhomes that have been in the fleet for two years, MODEL YEARS 2007. For Specifications please see our MODEL SHEET.
• All vehicles manufactured by Winnebago,Fleetwood,Leisure Vans and Heartland industry standards for quality, comfort, reliability and performance. Traveland RV Rental’s units are not “stripped down”; they are current, top-of-the-line units just like a customer would get if they ordered it direct from the factory. Microwave ovens, self-igniting water heaters, self-igniting refrigerators, dash and roof air conditioning, CD player, automatic transmission, showers are all standard equipment, generators plus many additional features on all models.
• Complimentary roadmaps, camping directories, brochures from individual RV Parks throughout the province, and tourist attraction such as whale watching, white water rafting, fishing excursion, city tours and BC Ferry Schedule are available for each client at Traveland.
Focus on clientele is international. Custom groups, families and individual travelers are welcome prospects. In the past, 90% of our customers have been international clientele from around the world; the majority thereof from Europe.

1. DEPOSITS
At the time of a rental motorhome pick-up, clients must leave a security/insurance deposit on Visa or MasterCard; no cash deposits will be accepted. The amount of the security deposit will be $3000.00 or $500.00 if additional insurance is booked. The amount will be charged to the client’s credit card on day of vehicle pick-up and reimbursed on day of vehicle drop-off, less any incurred charges (extra km driven, damage, cleanliness etc.). We are not responsible for any currency loss due to the exchange rate at time of charge and credit.
2. PREPARATION FEE
The preparation fee of $100.00 includes first tank of propane, first set of toilet chemicals and first set of biodegradable toilet paper and kitchen equipment.
STANDARD EQUIPMENT PER VEHICLE: Can & bottle opener, carving knife, cereal/salad bowls, coffee carafe & filter, colander/strainer, corkscrew, cutlery (knives, forks, tablespoons, teaspoons), cutlery tray, cutting board, dinner plates, egg cups, frying pan, garbage/waste can, glasses, grater, kettle, ladle, measuring cup, mugs, paring knife, peeler, pitcher/juice container, potato masher, pots (set of 3), roast fork, serving spoon, side plates, spatula, steak knives, tongs, whisk, wood spoon. Broom, butane lighter, clothes hanger, clothes line and pins, dish cloths, fly swatter, dish detergent, dust pan, oven tray, pail/bucket, pot holders, pot scrubber, rubber gloves, table cloth, tea towels, wash cloth.

NO CHARGE STANDARD EQUIPMENT: Jack & tire iron, spare tire & cover, water hose, sewer hose, 110V adaptor, flash light, screw driver, pliers, 12V replacement light bulbs, basic first aid kit, KOA discount camping card, fridge level, tools, spare fuses, operations manual, leveling blocks, matches and scissors. 3. PERSONAL CAMPING KIT RENTAL
Personal camping kits are $80.00 per person and include; Sleeping bag or comforter, sheets, pillow & pillow cases, bath towels (2), hand towels (2), face cloths (2) and bath mat.
4. EXTRA RENTAL EQUIPMENT
Reservations are accepted and recommended for optional equipments: Bicycle, Bike Rack, Baby Seat, Toaster etc. . We also have a fully stocked Recreational Vehicle and Camping Equipment store for items you may wish to purchase.
5. PETS
Sorry, NO pets are allowed in any of our motorhomes. Cleaning fees will apply if pet hair & dander is detected, since this is an allergen that affects many people.
6. SMOKING
Absolutely NO SMOKING is allowed in the motorhome. All our motorhomes are NON-SMOKING units and applicable charges of up to $1000.00 may be incurred if the smell of smoke is detected in the motorhome upon return. Smoke is an allergen and is irritating to many people.
7. GRAVEL/NORTHERN SURCHARGE
Travel within Alaska, Yukon and Northwest Territories requires payment of $600.00 per rental Gravel/Northern Surcharge for the “wear & tear” this puts on the vehicles.
8. GENERATOR CHARGE
All Motorhomes are equipped with Generators. Cost per hour or portion thereof, if used is $5.00.
9. TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS
It is the clients responsibility to report and pay for all traffic tickets, including parking tickets, upon drop-off. Customer’s failure to report these infractions to Traveland RV Rentals may result in an administrative charge of up to $100.00 in addition to the cost of the fine and will be charged to the customer’s credit card after the motorhome rental has terminated, when notice has been received by Traveland of the offence.
10. FUEL/PROPANE
Gasoline and diesel costs are the client’s responsibility. Fuel tanks are received full and must be returned the same way. Service charges PLUS the cost of gasoline for the missing amount is charged to the customer if the vehicle is returned with the gasoline or diesel tank not completely full. One free propane fill per rental is included. Propane tank does not have to be refilled upon return.
11. HOLDING TANKS/WASTE/CLEANUP
It is the client’s responsibility to return the vehicle with a cleaned interior and emptied sewage tank & waste water tank. Service charges apply if holding tanks are not completely empty upon return, or if interior is not cleaned. A fee of $40 per tank will be charged if holding tanks are not empty upon return.
12. INSURANCE
Every motorhome is covered by $5 million public liability included in the daily rate. The collision deductible is $5000.00 and may be reduced by purchasing extra insurance.
Insurance included in the rental rates is an insurance (CDR: Collision Deductible Reduction) with $5 million third party liability. In the event of loss or damage to the vehicle, whether or not due to the fault of the Renter, the Renter’s responsibility (provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the rental agreement) is limited to a maximum of $5,000 per occurrence except as outlined under “limited coverage”. There is no limit, however, if vehicle incurs loss or damage as outlined below under “losses not covered”. VIP: VIP insurance reduces the deductible in case of an accident. Please see chart below. In addition to the reduction in the damage deductible, VIP also covers incurred expenses of up to the daily retail rental rate for the period and size booked in the event of a mechanical breakdown of the vehicle which requires more than 12 hours to repair. Mechanical breakdown does not include malfunction of the radio, cassette, CD, TV, VCR, DVD, air conditioner(s), generator, refrigerator, cruise control or breakdown due to accident, whether or not the Renter is at fault.
Traveland RV Rentals is not responsible for any additional refund over and above up to $250/day per vehicle – If mechanically broken down, meaning vehicle is not drivable i.e. hotel charges, car rental or any other incidental or consequential cost in the event of a breakdown.
All insurance coverage is VOID if all loss and damage (REGARDLESS OF HOW IT HAPPENED) is not reported immediately to police and to TRAVELAND RV RENTALS. All claims must be submitted with a complete written driver’s report.

13. DRIVERS
All those who intent to drive and are 25 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license from his or her origin that allow driving of vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight of the motorhome that they have reserved are free. Please check license validity before reserving the vehicle. There is a charge of $5.00/day for drivers between the ages of 21 – 22 (Only certain vehicle types i.e. vans and Navion 23), who also hold a valid driver’s license with the above stated requirements.
14. PICK-UP/DROP-OFF & TRANSFER SERVICE
We provide morning pickup transfer service (By appointment only) from Airport and Down Town Hotels between 8:00am and 11:00am. Transfer to or from an airport area or downtown hotel can be requested. A message is left at the hotel at check-in time as to what time they will be picked up on the morning they are to be brought to Traveland RV Rentals to start their motorhome holiday, so they can begin by or before 13:00h. Motorhome drop-off time must take place on assigned bases and is generally between 9:00am and 12:00pm on the last day. The daily rental rate plus a penalty of $50.00 per hour will be charged for late returns. Depending on the clients return flight time or if scheduled to spend some more time in Vancouver downtown, we will try to accommodate them with a later drop-off time at no additional charge.
15. VOUCHERS
Customer must provide voucher for all prepaid services when they arrive at Traveland. If additional items/services are booked but not paid for in advance, clients must pay these prior to the start of their motorhome vacation.
16. ORIENTATION
Clients will receive a full comprehensive orientation of the motorhome at the time of pick-up in German or English. We will cover client’s responsibilities, helpful tips and safety measures to be taken to fully enjoy use of the motorhome. The presentation takes approximately one hour, and a trouble shooting manual is also provided, in the event of a question that was not covered during this time. We also have a toll free North American telephone number where client’s can reach us during business hours.
17. TAXES
Provincial Sales Tax – 7%
Goods & Services Tax – 5%
Both taxes are applicable for the rental charges of the motorhome, personal kits, preparation fee, and other rental items, etc. Insurance is non-taxable. All taxes are subject to change without notice.
18. CANCELLATIONS
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
48 days or more prior to departure No charge
33 – 48 days prior to departure 25% of pre-tax invoice
18 – 32 days prior to departure 50% of pre-tax invoice
17 – 4 day prior to departure 75% of pre-tax invoice
3 days prior to departure or “no-show” 85% of invoice
Cancellation charges are subject to tax(es).
19. MINIMUM RENTAL TIME
April 15 – November 1: Minimum 1 week rental. Rest of year: Minimum 2 weeks rental (unless by special request only).
20. CLEANING
Since we take pride in the clean condition in which our vehicles leave, a fee of up to $250 will be charged if the vehicle is not returned with a clean interior.
21. SUBSTITUTIONS
Traveland RV Rentals makes every effort to provide customers with the model requested. We do reserve the right, however, to substitute models of similar or larger size. If for any reason beyond our control the reserved motorhome is not available, we will offer a higher rated vehicle at no addition cost. Should a lower-rated motorhome be offered, our responsibility is limited to a refund of the difference of the two motorhomes.
PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS SINCE AT TIMES THIS WILL AFFECT CLIENTS FERRY RESERVATIONS EITHER TO VANCOUVER ISLAND OR THE INSIDE PASSAGE.
22. RESTRICTIONS
• Travel to Hyder, AK is permitted without Northern Surcharge.
• Travel in Mexico is not permissible at any time; the vehicle is NOT insured for travel outside Canada and the U.S.A.
• Logging roads, other roads, dirt roads and other non-public roads may not be used with the motorhome at any time.
• Alaska/Yukon and North West Territories – Permitted ONLY with the additional Gravel/Northern surcharge of $600.00.
• Travel on gravel roads is permitted as long as the road is marked as an access road to a Camp Ground, Provincial Park or National Park. Any gravel roads marked as 4X4, Forestry Roads or Logging Roads is not permitted at ANY TIME.
• Traveling through Death Valley, California is not permitted from May 1st to October 30th.
• Arizona – Traveling on Apache Trail east of Tortilla Flat to Roosevelt Dam is not permitted at ANY TIME.
• Beaches – Driving a motorhome on the beach is not permissible.
• Freezing – It is not permissible to have water in the tanks when temperatures are at freezing levels due to the possible damage to the fresh water and holding tanks and the water lines.
23. TRAVELING WITH CHILDREN
In BC there are guidelines as to child seats for younger children. Please always mention when young children are traveling, along with their age & weight, so we can pre-reserve the appropriate child seats, to ensure they are available for rent if the clients desire. These can be prepaid or payable upon arrival.

If our office has not confirmed a cancellation in writing, it will be considered a “no show” on the pickup date with full cancellation charges applicable.

• Beaches – Driving a motorhome on the beach is not permissible.
• Freezing – It is not permissible to have water in the tanks when temperatures are at freezing levels due to the possible damage to the fresh water and holding tanks and the water lines.
23. TRAVELING WITH CHILDREN
In BC there are guidelines as to child seats for younger children. Please always mention when young children are traveling, along with their age & weight, so we can pre-reserve the appropriate child seats, to ensure they are available for rent if the clients desire. These can be prepaid or payable upon arrival.

Insurance
Insurance included in the rental rates is an insurance (CDR: Collision Deductible Reduction) with $5 million third party liability. In the event of loss or damage to the vehicle, whether or not due to the fault of the Renter, the Renter’s responsibility (provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the rental agreement) is limited to a maximum of $5,000 per occurrence except as outlined under “limited coverage”. There is no limit, however, if vehicle incurs loss or damage as outlined below under “losses not covered”. VIP: VIP insurance reduces the deductible in case of an accident. Please see chart below. In addition to the reduction in the damage deductible, VIP also covers incurred expenses of up to the daily retail rental rate for the period and size booked in the event of a mechanical breakdown of the vehicle which requires more than 12 hours to repair. Mechanical breakdown does not include malfunction of the radio, cassette, CD, TV, VCR, DVD, air conditioner(s), generator, refrigerator, cruise control or breakdown due to accident, whether or not the Renter is at fault.
Traveland RV Rentals is not responsible for any additional refund over and above up to $250/day per vehicle – If mechanically broken down, meaning vehicle is not drivable i.e. hotel charges, car rental or any other incidental or consequential cost in the event of a breakdown.
All insurance coverage is VOID if all loss and damage (REGARDLESS OF HOW IT HAPPENED) is not reported immediately to police and to TRAVELAND RV RENTALS. All claims must be submitted with a complete written driver’s report.
